Oh hey, Julie here...

Imaginative, passionate, and characteristic are just a few words that come to mind when describing the incredible Julie McIntosh.

Born and raised in the UK, Julie knew from a young age she had a fondness for all things beauty and fashion. Julie especially took interest in textured hair.

Let’s face it…finding a stylist that understand curly hair isn’t easy and sometimes near impossible. Being a curly girl herself, Julie believed curly girls needed a haircut that was customized to the unique needs of their unique and natural curl type. After receiving her cosmetology license, Julie took the first steps on a journey that would eventually take her across the world to, where else…New York City.

Julie found herself showing off her talent at some of New York City’s most notable salons but eventually landed a position as a curl specialist at the momentous Devachan salon in SoHo. Julie was quickly gaining notice at Devachan as she had every aspect of curly hair down to a science. This led her to become one of Devachan’s most in-demand stylists.

Julie quickly gained attention with her iconic big hair, bold jewelry, and of course the high heels darlings. “I express myself with my fashion, it’s just me being me and I love being me.”says McIntosh.

After a long run at Devachan, the salon closed its doors in early 2022 which left Julie to venture out. “I want to keep teaching my clients to show off their unique authentic selves while embracing their natural hair.” Julie is also working on to bridge the gap between hair extensions and natural curly hair which led to become HairDiva.NYC. It’s all about the hair and the heels darlings. XOXO
